Student Exchange information evening

FREE FAMILY INFORMATION EVENING FOR Christchurch Boys’ High School STUDENTS AND SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE IN 2017

Student Exchange Australia New Zealand is a not-for-profit organisation that is registered with all state and territory Departments of Education around Australia and with the Ministry of Education in NZ. We are the first and only secondary exchange organisation in the world to be certified to ISO 9001 (Quality Management System) and we ensure the highest standards of care and support to our participants.

We would like to invite students and families to a FREE Information Evening in Christchurch, Thursday 25th May. The session is being held at Te Hapua: Halswell Centre, 341 Halswell Rd, Halswell, Christchurch and starts at 7:00pm.

Students can find out more about our exchange programs to over 25 countries, listen to former exchange students share their experience and learn about our scholarships and discounts on offer in 2017.

A reminder that our Ace of Trades Masterclass for Years 11-13 is taking place tomorrow night, 6.00pm-8.00pm.

  

This FREE masterclass is a chance for students to get an overview of all the trades at Ara, check out our workshops and see the masters at work. Learn what is takes to be a builder, plumber, welder, panel beater, electrician and much more. Friends and family welcome.

 

Date:        Tuesday 16 May

Time:        6:00pm-8:00pm

Venue:     Ara Woolston Campus, Cnr Sullivan Ave and Ensors Rd

Law Career Event

Students interested in studying Law when they finish school are encouraged to attend the law career function at Christ’s College on Monday 22 May, from 1.30pm – 2.45pm.

The structure of the Law degree and the career opportunities the degree offers will be explained.  These career opportunities are not limited to legal practice but range widely from business, through government departments to working for international organisations.  Practical examples of how the law is taught will be a major feature of the session.

The career function is open to Year 12 and 13 students who have not yet decided what they would like to do in life, but feel that a tertiary education is an important next step.  Parents are also invited to attend.

Competenz have an amazing opportunity for students to meet future employers and experts in Engineering and Manufacturing at our Engineering SpeedMeet workshop!

The workshop will take place at the exciting SouthMach exhibition in Horncastle Arena.

We will be holding a special Workshop from 1-4pm on Wednesday 24 May 2017 for students interested in career guidance in manufacturing and engineering.

Students will hear from industry experts on future skills requirements for jobs in the engineering & manufacturing sectors.

Following this session, we will also be holding an SpeedMeet. The SpeedMeet will bring employers and secondary school students together, in the form of five minute mini-interviews. Following these interviews, both participants decide who they would like more information from, and where there are mutual matches with possible apprenticeship opportunities.
