Riccarton Rotary Youth Trust Scholarship 2016 – Applications close 15 August. See Mrs Bailey for application forms
Following on the discussion at the meeting tonight of some of the community not getting information about scholarships, please advertise the Riccarton Rotary Youth Trust Scholarship widely. The purpose of the scholarship is to attract students who face significant financial and/or personal challenges which might otherwise prevent them from considering entry to tertiary education. The scholarship is for a school leaver intending to enrol full-time at CPIT, Lincoln University or the University of Canterbury. Students who have undertaken a gap year may also apply, ie, they must not have studied at a tertiary institution this year. Applicants must have resided in the Canterbury region for at least twelve months immediately preceding 15 August or preceding the start of any gap year.
The scholarship is $10,000 per annum for three years, with the possibility of extending for a fourth year. The scholarship pays for the fees first and the remaining balance is deposited into the recipient’s bank account.
Applications are submitted to my office as we coordinate the scholarship on behalf of all the institutions. It should already be advertised by CPIT, otherwise access the application form from http://www.canterbury.ac.nz/scholarshipsearch/ScholarshipDetails.aspx?ScholarshipID=6935.568.
