Russell McVeagh School Leavers’ Scholarship

The Russell McVeagh School Leavers’ Law Scholarship and mentoring scheme was introduced in 1999, targeting outstanding school leavers who intended studying law at a New Zealand university. Since 1999, 303 students across New Zealand have been awarded a Russell McVeagh School Leavers’ Scholarship.

Our goal is to provide exceptionally talented students, across all socio-economic levels, with the opportunity to realise their potential and develop into the ‘best and brightest’ lawyers of their generation.

Applications for this scholarship are open from Tuesday 2 June 2015 until 5.00 pm on Friday 3 July 2015.

Applications will be available via our website We have attached a RMScholarship Application Form.version of our application form here, as we understand that some applicants prefer to send in a hard copy. Our preference is for applications to be made online if at all possible. Please stress to your students they do not need to send in both written and online applications, one or the other is fine.

For online applications, students will need to submit electronic copies of;

·         a school testimonial (you may send this separately as per attached letter);

·         a reference;

·         their CV;

·         their academic records to date;

·         a passport sized photo (optional).
