Bachelor of Broadcasting Communications degree starting in 2020

This is to let you know we are able to offer three additional places in the Journalism specialisation of our Bachelor of Broadcasting Communications degree starting in 2020.  Applications for the degree officially closed 30 September, but we are reopening the process, for Journalism applicants only.

As you will know,  our vocationally-focussed qualification offers students entry into the journalism and communications industries via an internship in year 3.

We have also just recently hosted a national conference for tertiary journalism educators [JEANZ] including invited speakers from our major media companies including RNZ, Newshub, TVNZ, Stuff , and Newsroom.  They were unanimous the industry needs more qualified journalists.  The opportunities are there for students who can write and want to change the world 😊

So, if you have Y13 students still be considering their options for 2020, please let them know.  Applications may be made online at –

https://www.ara.ac.nz/explore-ara/our-study-interest-areas/new-zealand-broadcasting-school/broadcasting/how-to-apply

The application document may say applications must be in by 30 September 2019.   For Journalism in 2020,  that deadline no longer applies.
